Canadian FestivalsCanada is a country filled with culture and pride. The residents celebrate the country's background and their enthusiasm for their culture with a variety of annual festivals and events that draw both locals and tourists.
Canadian Film Festivals
In 1888, a newspaper reported from Bristol, England left his job to become a farmer in Manitoba, Canada. James Freer documented his travels from England to Canada, emphasizing the prairies, railways and farming of Canada. In 1897, the films toured through England as Canada's way of promoting immigration to Canada- and were later picked up by the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Minister of the Interior of Canada. Festivals in Manitoba originated from this film success, and in 1902, another tour started and was shown throughout the United Kingdom.
Art Festivals
The people of Canada are creative, and celebrate this creativity with stimulating art festivals held throughout the year and all over various areas of Canada.
